Hello, My name is Tina and as Erin said I am the stepmom, wife to her ex-husband, and co author of this book.
I currently reside in a little town in Wisconsin, where I have lived since August of 2006. I never thought I would call a place like this “home.” I am originally from Minnesota and as a child, my parents moved around a lot. So I never really had a place or town I could call home. I can honestly say I have that now. I think this is what has helped mold me into the mom I am today.
I am a mother/stepmom to five amazing kids. Let me break it down for you. I have one daughter that is 17 with my ex; two stepchildren (Erin’s), 17 and 13; and two children with my husband, 11 and 9.
So we have his, mine, and ours—and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I am a stay-at-home mom and daycare provider. I am proud to say that I love it. It allows me a lot of opportunities to spend time with my kids and be there for them. I see them off in the morning and I am here when they get home. My daycare also gives me lots of kids to love and watch grow.
We have, as some would say, a “small farm” with all kinds of animals.
We have three dogs and six cats. No I’m not the crazy cat lady, or am I? Three of the cats are inside and three are outside—they just showed up one day. No one goes hungry in my house, so, yes, I feed them. My husband is often worried that some day he will come home and find me feeding some wild animal in the garage.
My husband hunts and would love for me to join him, but that’s not for me. He would be the one to kill and I would be the one administering CPR. Yep I’m the crazy lady that stops to let the squirrel cross the street.
I am a planner and, yes, it drives my husband crazy. But I can’t help it. It helps keep me organize with this crazy life. I am the one that plans the gatherings, parties, and trips, and my husband just sits back and lets me do it. (I think he learned long ago that I was far too stubborn to try stopping me).
My world revolves around these five amazing kids—between sports, concerts, parents club, meetings for sports. We find little time for ourselves, but still make it a point to get out and spend some alone time.
I hope you enjoy our little book.
